Choosing The Best Baby Diaper

Baby diapers are just like a blessing in disguise for mothers, because they are very helpful in many ways. Earlier when diapers were not introduced moms used to wrap their babies in cotton nappies made of cloth, which can be reused after washing.

But these handmade cotton diapers were a nuisance because they had low absorption capacity and washing them again and again and drying them is a real pain. More over you cannot maintain the same hygiene level in these cotton diapers. Thus few companies came up with the brilliant idea of making things easier for mothers and they introduced Baby diapers.

The major players in the diaper industry are Huggies, Pampers , Luvs , Bumkins diapers and many more. Every new born uses 8-12 diaper in a day. So as a new parent diapers are an integral part of your life. You would not like leaks to mess the things around and stop you from your work so you need reliable diapers.

Diapers are disposable, come in every size from newborn to a toddler, prevent leakage and they are friendly on your pocket also. Normally parents use two types of diapers: cloth or disposable. Each one has its benefits and some bad points too. While cloth diapers are environment friendly as they can be washed and reused .

Cloth diapers are non-disposable but they can be reused at least 100-150 times and then can be recycled. Another benefit of cloth diapers is that they are made of organic cotton so they are not harsh on baby’s skin as the disposable ones. Disposable diapers are made of plastic and chemicals so they are sometimes harsh on baby’s skin and might cause rashes or redness on the diaper covering area.

If we compare cotton cloth diapers they are cheaper than disposable diapers. Diapers being friendly to use and easy to dispose are used quite often, but parents should take proper care of the baby diapers while using them. The diaper should be bought according to the baby size and weight and they should be removed as and when required.

Baby should be not left for hours together in wet or dirty diapers, because it might cause irritation. This will finally result in Diaper rashes which cause mild redness and scaling in the area where the diaper touches your baby’s skin. Diaper rashes are very harsh on soft and subtle baby skin. They cause great pain to them so they should be treated as quickly as possible.

Most important thing to avoid rashes is always keep your baby’s diaper area clean, cool and dry. You should change the diaper quite often and whenever possible leave the baby without diaper so that the skin in that area remains dry for some time and gets fresh air.

Carefully clean your baby’s bottom with luke warm water between diaper changes. Let the skin dry before putting another diaper. And recheck that the diaper is not too tight to form marks on the waist. Thus making sure that your baby is diaper safe and happy. A happy baby will make you also happy.
