There are many signs and symptoms of early pregnancy. These symptoms and signs are a result of the physiological and hormonal changes occurring in a woman’s body after she becomes pregnant. As a result the pressure is applied on the uterus to make room for the growing embryo thereby resulting in cramping. As the embryo grows and develops in size, more pressure is put on the walls of the uterus. Cramping is also known as implantation bleeding. Cramping is something not new to women. You may have been experiencing it during your menstrual period. Cramping during pregnancy is much to the one you experience during menstrual periods.
Small amount of bleeding accompanies cramping. You may blood spots in your underwear. The bleeding stops after two or three days and is usually light-colored unlike the menstrual blood which darker and thicker. This is again not a cause for worry and is completely safe and natural.
There are times when the cramping is severe and require medical attention. Also, if cramping is associated with fever and excessive and prolonged bleeding, it warrants an appointment with your physician. Also, you must check the color and thickness of the bleeding. If it is too dark or too thick, it calls for immediate medical attention. Also, if you had a miscarriage, and if the cramping is not normal, immediate attention is necessary. Notwithstanding all these, cramping is absolutely normal and it can be taken as a preparation of your body for the incredible nine-month journey.
