The pregnancy diet is a good nutritious diet for you and your baby. Lets just keep it very simple for all the pregnant ladies to be able to follow it. The first is to remember that each bite counts and is an opportunity for you to feed your baby healthy nutrients.

The second point to remember is that even if you are not hungry the baby is so do not skip meals.In fact eating frequently is the best way to a well nourished foetus.The third tip is to realize the importance of unrefined carbohydrates like wholegrain breads and cereals , brown rice , fresh fruits , dried beans and peas , hot potatoes in their skin as these supply essential B vitamins ,trace minerals ,protein and important fiber and always remember the best pregnancy diet in the world can be undermined by alcohol,tobacco and other unsafe drugs.

Your daily diet should consist of food from different food groups like
Milk and Diary Products which can include Skimmed milk ,yogurt,butter milk,cottage cheese.

Cereals ,whole grains,Dal’s,pulses which are good sources of protein
Vegetables which provide vitamins,minerals and fibre Fruits which are fresh and seasonal.

Meat/Fish/Poultry which provide essential animal proteins.Vegetarians need to consume about 1.5 ounce of nuts ,2 to 3 cups of legumes for protein. 1 egg and 1/2 ounce of nuts is considered equivalent to 1 ounce of meat/fish/poultry.

Keep yourself well hydrated. Have lots of fluids especially water and fresh fruit juices .

Fats are an essential part of a healthy diet but some fats are better than others. Monosaturated fats like Olive canola are considered good fats because they help in lowering cholestrol . Saturated fats are best avoided as they raise cholestrol levels like high fat meats ,butter etc.

To conclude its important to take care of your physical health and mental health.Physical health can betaken care of by keeping the above points in mind and mental health can be taken care of by sparing about 30 minutes a day in an activity which helps you in relaxing.
