How To Avoid Pregnancy

Newly married couples try to avoid pregnancy for a few years. But due to many reasons or lack of proper knowledge wife gets pregnant which comes as bitter news for newly married couple. But by taking some precautions or by applying some methods you can avoid such situations. Here are some tips to avoid unplanned pregnancy.

Condoms are considered to be very effective for safe sex and to avoid unplanned pregnancy. But you have to take a lot of care while handling and using condoms. You shouldn’t expose condoms to air or heat. They may cause it to leak or tear which will eventually lead to pregnancy. Cool and dry places are considered as safe place to store condoms. Just like any medicine, condoms too have expiry date. If you use it even after its expiry date you are not going to get its benefits. Therefore inspect the expiry date before the use of any condoms. Fingernails or any sharp objects can rupture or tear the condom.

Contraceptives play a major role in prevention of pregnancy. If you don’t want pregnancy and still you get it you have to go for abortion which is bitter experience for both the spouse. But contraceptives work in avoiding pregnancy. There are various kinds of contraceptives available in the market. You need to choose of your choice. Apart from preventing pregnancy, contraceptives also protect you from several diseases one of which can be mentioned here as AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome).

However some contraceptive pills may not be suitable for some patients. They can increase your blood pressure, cause nausea or headache or chest pain or any other problem as their side effects. Therefore you should consult your doctor regarding the usage of contraceptives.

There is another method of avoiding pregnancy which can be used by women. This method is known as vaginal spermicides. Before having intercourse, spermicides are placed into vagina which kills the sperms of male. It can be found in the form of jellies, foams or creams. However this method is found to be fully effective if any other method is added to it.

If you are breastfeeding mother you should not worry about pregnancy because due to some hormonal changes women do not get pregnant during her breast feeding phase. And if you get the signs of becoming pregnant, you must seek doctor’s advice.
