Pregnancy is a very sensitive time and it is really important to be careful about what you eat.  Your diet is the most important aspect during this time.

It is essential to have at least 8 – 10 glasses a day; it helps to keep your body clean and pure, washes out all the toxins and excess fats. Getting the right amount of nutrients is really important so that your baby can develop healthily and in the best possible way.

During pregnancy
you can feel cravings for eating junk food.  These junk foods increase weight and make you fat. Think about how much extra weight you will have to loose after the delivery because of junk foods. So, it is best to avoid them. The best way is to have a balanced diet. That should include nutrients, vitamins, calories and proteins. Eat healthy food and have lots of water.

As you go further during your pregnancy, you need to increase your calories to at least 200 – 300 a day. The intake of calories can be done from dairy products, proteins and also foods which are high in folic acid. It can be found in foods like squash, beets, green vegetables, etc. Folic acid is also essential for the baby. Iron is also essential for a pregnant woman; it can be obtained from dark green leafy vegetables.

Constipation is one of the major issues that happen during pregnancy. Fruits, vegetables and grains are healthy for the digestive system. With enough intakes of these things, the pregnant woman’s chances of suffering with constipation will be reduced.

Avoid microwave foods
at any cost, because they contain additives that do no good for you and have really less nutrients. And this includes heating food in the microwave also. Even the canned food intake should be minimum. If you can avoid it completely then that’s really good.

These are some of the important steps to keep in mind while pregnant. Avoiding junk food and eating healthy can be very useful for a healthy baby and a better pregnancy.
