Calcium present in prenatal vitamins prevents a woman from losing her bone density while she is pregnant. It also helps to strengthen the teeth and bones of the baby. It is also very much essential for the growth and proper functioning of the nervous, muscular and circulatory systems in babies.

The usual side effects of having prenatal vitamins are nausea and constipation. To avoid this problem s, you can drink lots of water and have a diet rich in fiber so as to aid better absorption of the vitamins.
